ok - for those of you who just found out - we changed the software for the forums from phpbb to swf. It took a couple of weeks of testing and preparation, but it appears to be working. There are still some minor glitches to be worked out, and I expect you'll let myself and the various moderators know if you find any. Some benefits to switching:
1. better flash players for audio files
2. ability to make 'child boards' - essentially subforums - forums within forums - this will come in handy down the road when there are tons of member pranks
3. enhanced layout - you can sort topics within forums by poster, date et cetera by clicking the heading
4. ability to embed various mp3 and movie players within forum posts
5. better security for the site - less spam et cetera
6. ability to have an arcade - something I really like - basically any flash game can be installed and played here, with high scores saved and all (pretty cool for me since I recently began making flash games...)
7. despite the rudimentary design template you see here, eventually, because this forum software is so well built and thus relatively glitch-free, it is much easier to make the forums to our design
so - that said, welcome to the new forum - hope you like it - I certainly do
but the best news is - now that all this bullshit is out of the way, Team Jackulator can get back on the horse and start producing again - so expect within the next week or so we'll be back on track with our submissions - and to those of you who've been so great uploading calls - keep 'em comin!!!
