"Twenty pushups a day..."

one of my oldest friends -- known him since 1984 I think  huh

well he's getting married -- I don't really know her that well -- only talked to her a few times -- I don't think she likes many of his friends

but I'm happy for him

life is much more tolerable if you have someone to share the good times with  cheesy

and blame the bad times on  grin

so now I have to get a suit... haven't had to wear a suit in years

should I rent a tux, or just see if I can find something serviceable and nice at Sal's Boutique? (salvation army...)

whadya think?

good for your friend. Weddings are good excuses to party lipsrsealed

go to goodwill and buy a blazer then paint it black and white  tongue tongue

if you decide to rent a tux, I hope you don't have as much trouble as Jack had  T_Grin2

i need a new suit!  cheesy cool

you gotta be more posh than michael caine, but at the same time be very einsteinian, look nature and comfortable ..pipe, blazer, silk handkerchief, pocket watch, plaid socks.

jk rent a nice black tuxedo, no orange or baby blue  and you'll be eh-okay

I went to a wedding last year and all they guys wore suits except one guy with a sports coat.  I think the tux is for elaborate weddings or perhaps just for the groom and groomsmen.  You might be out of place in a tux.

I would recommend just a dress shirt and tie. I went to a wedding last year and that's what I did and I fit in fine. Usually just the groom and groomsmen wear the fancy suits.

"Wedding ceremony participants, also referred to as the wedding party, are the people that participate directly in the wedding ceremony itself."

I think this means you will be one of the groomsmen.  You should be paired with a bridesmaid that you walk in with and then stand at the alter next to the groom.  Also, you would sit at the table with the bride and groom at the reception and might be asked to toast the couple.

Should be fun.
