That is one way. I personally use Skype ( www.skype.com ) to make the calls so that I don't have to mess with holding the phone up to the speaker.  Basically Skype lets you call people using your computer, and it is free to call 1-800 numbers using it. To do the actual recording you should use a program called audacity which is also free. Good luck with making the calls!

Ummm, I don't have speakers on my computer, I have some real nice headphones, I don't suppose that would work?

they might work if you can basically tape them to the receiver on your phone - might better get a $10 set of crappy pc speakers
