Traceablility of Skype

Does anybody know how easy it is to trace Skype? According to this guy he got the police sent after him after making just one phone call. I wonder if he had threatened the person a lot to get this to happen?

of course if u threatin someone they gonna try they hardest to catch em but he probably lien.....first time hearin someone gettin caught on skype.

it goes like this..regular traces on company can't trace skype

but police tracers can trace skype depends if they want to actually have something to do.but they can't do nothing to u without evidence, and a warrent to look on ur computer for skype program etc.

It also depends on which ISP you are with, whether or not you're on a router (maybe with a firewall installed) and also a firewall on the calling machine.

All of these things are variables with which could make it either more difficult or impossible to trace a skype caller.

My understanding is that they have to contact the phone company, find the lines that the skype calls come through (they also need to know that it's VOIP), find the distributor and then trace from there. Time consuming, money eating and the phone companies dont seem to care.

There isn't much chance of being caught unless a building blew up and you said it was you.
