The mp3 sounds you use,do you get them from a dvd and if so how do you transfer a dvd to editing software without it saying that it's copyrighted and cannot be performed?

EDITED BY JACKULATOR: I changed the title from 'how do you.....' - remember to make the title something that hints at whats in the topic so people will be able to find what they're looking for on the site more easily

well, if you have to you can always record the audio real-time by playing the DVD on your computer and recording the audio from your soundcard

but most of the audio comes from either AVI files or DVDs - with AVI files you just download Virtual Dub (it's free) and export the WAV file then convert it to MP3 and cut it up

with DVD files you can get a program like DVD Audio Extractor and extract all the audio to MP3 files and cut them up

i import my video files directly into audacity and export selections, i find that's the most timesaving method.

as long as you have the video codecs and the ffmpeg library you can do just about any, well, everything i've tried so far works.

Been actively collecting audio for like a month, but i just hate doing it lol. Can't wait to actually get round to making my soundboards, rather than just audio collecting lol.

I know - if only there was some way to use speech recognition to cut up audio clips for you... that is the most ridiculously tedious part of soundboard making
