It appears the ps3 has a form of the y2k bug (ysk10 bug?) as a lot of people except those with 120gb models are reporting that the system clock has reset to December 31 1999 and has corrupted a bunch of data leaving games unplayable. I first noticed this a few minutes ago when I started up my ps3 to play Heavy Rain I then googled the erroe a found this thread on IGN.com http://boards.ign.com/ps3_general_board/b8267/189806405/!p1IF YOU HAVE A PS3 YOU PROBABLY SHOULDNT SWITCH IT ON UNTIL THIS PROBLEM IS RESOLVED!!!Edit: lol I put 'cock' instead of 'clock'

Rootkits, SecuROM, and now Y2k PS3s...what's not to love about Sony? I gave up on consoles right about the time I figured out how to build a gaming PC. Say what you will about Windows being a dog, but I don't have to deal with Red Rings of Death or crazy Y2K PS3s

It kinda makes sense though that if the clock resets to 1999 it can't play ps3 games. It probably thinks it's a playstation 1 now.

There's no way to tell which will be affected and which won't since this is a bizarre thing which no one saw coming.
I hear the slim ones are ok too so it seems to be only ones made before a certain date.

I'm totally making a soundboard out of this guy -- for the PSN customer service line btw, my PS3 isn't having any problems since we just bought it in December -- I only thought it was because I read this topic last night and when I tried to play this morning to check it out my brother had logged into a new account just created yesterday that I forgot about, and THAT was the reason mw2 showed 0% complete haha great vid too man

Mines working again now but my Heavy Rain trophys are still gone. I don't really care about trophys anyway.
