Never been interested in the Frank Garrett stuff besides those awesome songs EFMDEN made awhile back. Those were great.
victim pranks were destined for disaster, it was a good run.

Speaking from the RoD point of view, or the POV of the prankers that loved victim boards in general, what we had was really really amazing, and most of us didn't mean any harm. It's not going away either, we just have to go underground and be more respectful about it, which most of us were in the first place. It's just a shame that shit has to get stirred up like it did in the blink of an eye, and an even bigger shame that it had to be one of the best prankers of all time(in my opinion) to make it happen. Anyone who followed GP's calls knows what I mean. Springfield Pervert calls Mrs. Springfield was the pinnacle of hilarity, once again in my opinion. But those Burton Street calls took things way too far. I noticed that when nismo posted part 2 on youtube. But at the rate GP was going, something like this was bound to happen, and I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner, or blow up bigger than it did, unless the worst is yet to come. I still got mad respect for the guy though, and I'd give my girlfriends ovaries for his soundboard collection.

After this heat blows over, I think prankers who, like Jackulator, know how to exercise a little common sense will pick up right where idiots like Nismo left off. I might just be among them. I'm a huge fan of soundboard pranks and scambaiting and I've thought about getting started in both of them for a while now, so...why not combine them? Use a junk e-mail account to write to Nigerian scammers like you're Duncan/Jackass Plumber/etc (changing names & contact information, obviously), call the scammers when you get their number, and then unleash the soundboard. Not sure if people would really go for that, but I doubt many people could find fault with it

I would stay the hell away from most prank callers on yt lets look at some quotes to prove my point they are gonna take this to the point where it gets reported on CNN or something.
Karestase (34 minutes ago) Show Hide I dare one of you guys to prank the Sugar Creek police departement with Frank garrett hahaha
KirkCliff2 (1 hour ago) Show Hide Fox News, you'll probably be getting a visit from the FBI, buddy, so keep on reporting and making a damn nuisance of yourself and we'll see. I seriously think they're hypocrites, because if we pranked them, they'd react the same way as everyone else. Hell, they'd probably end up being great victims. And it'd be hilarious to see them report about being pranked themselves
DigitalTDMA (1 day ago) Show Hide lmao rofl!!! i cant stop watching this the police officer said we need a life heh he needs to be pranked by one of us lolz!!!!
I see some of them are getting some sense and sayin calling more than 2 times is crazy but that's not the issue. Will they condemn anyone that harasses people? I would say no but I'm also a hypocrite because I called the satanic racist several times when I first found him but I haven't called him in at least 8 months.

Yeah, really what the fuck is wrong with that guy?! AR-15? Really? Damn.... thanks for the heads-up man, but that's why we have rules about the types of pranks we do here - so we don't have to panic and pull our shit off the internet, and warn everybody and hide 1. no repeat calls - can't really constitute harassment if you only call once 2. don't threaten anyone 3. bleep out people's names/numbers for their privacy 4. don't use 16 digits when giving fake credit card numbers in case you accidentally provide a real one 5. don't let the call end with a business thinking you want to purchase something, if you do, call back immediately and cancel 6. don't record calls to or from states where more than just the caller has to know the call is being recorded and not a rule, but definitely a guideline -- make the call funny for THEM too if you can so anyway, Nismo joined here a few days ago, and then all of a sudden last night he asked me to remove a prank call he said he posted here - and to explain why he linked me to that Fox video about the Nightmare on whatever street - so I asked him in the shoutbox if his call was LIKE that call on the news, and he said it WAS that call on the news.. I said, 'well, that means you didn't read the rules about posting pranks - you're banned.' banned him from the site and the shoutbox, and removed his prank because of douchebags like that (giving the entire prank call community a bad name I might add) posting material all over the place trying to gain notoriety, there may be recent calls here posted by members that are as you describe -- repeat calls, threatening et cetera - but I have been trying to finish two projects the last few weeks and haven't been in the Member Pranks section for a while (usually it's pretty dead there anyway), so if I could get a little help from the mods and anyone else to go through the calls posted in the last month or two in the Member Pranks forum and make sure there aren't any calls like that -- that'd be great fucking assholes... like Jack said, "I warned 'em."

There's a difference between making a prank phone call and a threatening one especially when you do it repeatedly which is harrasment and leave the people fearing for there lives. I find it kinda funny that the guys who made these calls are the ones who are scared now. - This must be what they mean by...poetic justice? Is Nismo the same guy who called that hooker then when she arrived set his drive way on fire? I thought that guy was messed up then.

Is Nismo the same guy who called that hooker then when she arrived set his drive way on fire? I thought that guy was messed up then. Wow, when did this happen? It was a while ago, maybe 4-5 months? But yeah, that was definitely him. I'm pretty sure he also put up a vid of him driving around with his brother (or possibly his friend, can't remember) and blowing an air horn at random people on sidewalks. Then, about halfway through when someone got pissed and threw something at his car, he opened the door, cut the video, and put as a comment that he beat the guy's ass. I think his Youtube buddies are in denial. I was talking to one of them the other day and he seems to think that A) nothing will change from this and B) Nismo is now a "rock star"

That's pretty naive on his part. Somebody with no boundaries, like Nismo, is only going to bring trouble for everyone else. I cannot imagine this ending like nothing ever happened. Anybody that starts pranking again should stay far away from YouTube.

Of all the dumb ass remarks about this incident- none of which anybody aside from a few people know what's going on- that's gotta be the dumbest. Firstly, the majority of the Burton Street calls weren't made by Nismo, if you checked the video descriptions you'd see that. Secondly, with people pulling off their youtube vids, soundboards and shutting down websites ahs just rpoved what a bunch of coward ass sum bitches certain people are LOL, there was no need for ROD to close down its only decent content over this afterall, and neither was there the need for the mass hysteria which has taken other people offline with it... mass hysteria i think, caused by their own paranoia and distrust of their "youtube buddies" in the first place. Of course victim pranks will be back, but far away from youtube, yes. There's nothing inhereantly wrong with victim pranks, but we've all learnt that calls like the "burton street ones" were a bad idea and won't be repeated. However, the point remains, that people wouldn't even be making these calls in the first place if so many people didn't enjoy them.

Blonde, as best I could remember, Nismo was the guy behind those pranks. I'm not beyond admitting I was wrong, so if that's not the case I apologize. Everyone who took part in the Burton Street series ought to be held responsible.
And you can call it whatever you want - paranoia, mass hysteria, et cetera - but a lot of good prankers have called it quits over this, the most popular prank site on the Net basically closed up shop, and Youtube, which is probably the best place to build an audience, is no longer friendly territory. Those are HUGE losses.
I have no doubt that victim pranks will be back, but it won't be as good as it used to be any time soon, if ever. The fact that lots of people on Youtube support what he did, like you mentioned, makes me worried that we haven't seen the end to this kind of crap.

I was a member of RoD forums. Posted lots of original calls to the victims. Mind you that I never made but two prank calls in all my life. I called Chris once long ago but it was with skype. He said I was being tracked. He got me cause I immediately hung up. Oh well guess I don't have strong nerves. Hopefully I won't go to jail.
On the subject. Nismo fucked it up for everyone else. I had an account on youtube called dozerworms. I uploaded a total of 11 videos of original calls to Frank. Upon recent events I deleted the account. Again I never called him or ever harassed anyone. Would it have been ok to just leave it alone and not delete the account? At this point I probably shouldn't come back to youtube. I just don't know what to do. It will be interesting to see what will happen. One things for sure I would not want to be nismo or goldenphone2. I read that he made the calls and nismo posted them. But I'm sure he made the calls as well. Perhaps I am paranoid call it what you want. I think I'll just be a member here instead.

if you didnt actually make the calls then you'll be fine. I still see many calls on Youube anyway. I think everybody's freaking out a little bit, probably 1 or two people will be in trouble if that. Since when does the law in America work swiftly and justly? If i was prank calling I would just stay away from the those people or whatever and continue but being careful. (Why shouldn't you be cautious anyway?) I Dont remember seeing ROD on the news was it? I thought they just showed Youtube. Oh yeah & i might add people should start bleeping out names and numbers that might help a littleyou can post calls here, just remember we dont do: redials and unwarranted harassment. (like I'm gonna hunt you down and kill you) if they think its serious (of course) like the dumb ass Jesus lady

It is funny how this is history repeating itself- by that I mean the history of YewTube and soundboard pranking is not really history but just a small niche of people laughing at something the general public hasn't encountered. The moment some piss-ant FOX station has a victim and a sheriff interviewed the 'community' thinks public awareness spikes and the 'tough-guy' pranksters head for the hills. If you google 'Duncan' (his real name) - near the top- it comes up with a thread that is similar to this one but still part of the JACK forums. All I am saying is that the more people abuse what we use as entertainment the more resistance the general public will create. Kind of like Ohm's law Voltage = Current divided by Resistance. Waaay too much current with Burton Street = major resistance. Cheers to Jackulator, his fans and this website; big brass balls with a seasoning of respect for a very long time.

they aren't prank callers and in no way represent us. "you guys", "us", "we". they are just fans who hope one of us is stupid enough to fill their silly requests. I thought that guy was messed up then. nismo did some crazy stuff. luckily he didn't get in trouble for any of it though. at one point they had branched out into different kinds of pranks, crazy stuff like you speak of, however it didn't last very long and they went back to soundboard pranks. Blonde, as best I could remember, Nismo was the guy behind those pranks. I'm not beyond admitting I was wrong, so if that's not the case I apologize. Everyone who took part in the Burton Street series ought to be held responsible.
nismo posted them to youtube, and i assume he recorded them, but he did not make the calls. that is a fact. no one who took part in the burton street calls should be held responsible. that is foolish. they made a mistake. it was a good idea, but instead of evoking anger (which is hilarious), at some point, they accidentally evoked fear. that combined with rick the mullet man saying he lived down the street caused unforeseen problems. however, they didn't purposely do that. their intent was not to be on the news, im certain of that. they made a mistake which im sure they will never make again.
