yeah if the results can be duplicated in further studies there are incredible consequences not just to science but to fuckin reality....

one time when I tripped on acid I envisioned in my mind's eye (not photographically, but kind of conceptually) a sort of slide show -- thousands of slides in front of me, but thin because they were viewed from the side like individual pictures in frames, like I was standing in the center of a slide projector -- and the slides were extending around me for 360 degrees, and the idea was that I could choose to experience my reality in any one of them -- simply by scrolling to the left or right -- and each one was just as real as the other ones, but was the result of different choices -- either by me or others... but they all existed simultaneously.

so, insane or not, when I hear science murmuring about things like this it kind of makes the part of me that imagined that slide show perk up

because if (like the video I linked after the article) photons are made to exist in a billion states at once until one of them finds the correct path to the photosynthesis core, and then the one that DID is the only one that exists in the present -- it follows that sentient creatures might be able to actively engage in the process of selecting (from the vantage point of the future) the result in the present that they desire...

which would drastically change the meaning of 'free will'... or at least upgrade the fuck out of it

fucking insane.
