got fired!

finally got fired from my baking job 

eight years of my life down the drain

what it came down to is that I just didn't drink the kool aid.
they rode me for almost five years at this new store after I transferred in
tried to get me to quit
when they finally realized I wasn't going to no matter what kind of shit they pulled they started writing me up for every tiny mistake until they felt they had enough to fire me

so now? the guy goes home and he starts looking all over the internet for jobs. wishes he could just sit on his ass and collect $420 a week in unemployment but his wife is going batshit at her job and uhh. yeah so I need to find a job quick.

I do not EVER want to work in retail or food service again. I am not cut out for it.

So I have new stress now that I'm unemployed, but SO much less stress of a different type now that I've left Hell, Inc.

I would say I'm sorry to hear about your loss of occupation, but by the way you describe it, sounds like you deserve congratulations over commiserations. Life is too short to work a job you hate for that long. There's got to be a vocation out there more suitable for you than what you were doing, one that will help you cycle past the bad blood that's been building up. At least holding down a job for eight years looks good on a resume.

So, no way is all completely lost. And who knows, this could be a true blessing in disguise. Hopefully the next gig will be something you can find enjoyment in, and those old scars you got will serve as a positive reminder of how much thing can improve.

I always land on my feet UB. At least that's what my momma says. Now I'm trying to land on six feet though.  uhh.

waiting for my unemployment check to come in .... 7 weeks now. we're living off my wife's income 

so I've been ubering 

make about $9 an hour after subracting 25% for taxes and gas money 

but hey. I've been trying to line myself up with a coding job or something in 'tech'

I'm starting class at MIT tomorrow. So I can finally get some credentials that prove I can do what I do. Gonna learn Python. Then Full Stack. Maybe settle somewhere in between or find some kind of niche where I fit in.

what I'm most worried about my job isn't getting fired (I'm apparently one of the few non-psychopaths that work here and that they can find. Did I ever mention I work with an actual Nazi? this guy's a fuckin' Nazi!) anyways, what I'm worried about is the entire company going out of business. That's a distinct possibility. And it would fuckin' suck too cause it's essentially a perfect job for me right now...

or am I just being lazy and I should really go to college and do better? probably.
